In 1965, Mr. Jhang Rei Jian who’s from Si Sia Village, Dong Shi District, Jia Yi County, came to Kaohsiung to try to make a living. He was always very thankful for the merciful holy god mother in the Gang Ko Temple in Cian Zih Liao from his hometown, so he went back to his hometown to ask the holy mother and it was approved by the Gang Ko temple for him to invite Si holy mother to come down south with him. The statue was worshipped by the locals in Si Jia tribe. Because the holy mother showed the locals how powerful she was by granting people’s wishes, more and more devotees came and the attendance in the temple was great. In 1967, the committee was set up to manage the temple. The temple “Sheng Tien Gong” was chosen to be the name. The temple also held a ceremony to ask the Yu Huang Da Di to grant to let the temple have sculptures of Da holy mother, Er, San, Si, Wu, Liou, Mei Jho holy mother, Bodhisattva, etc. San holy mother was chosen among all the gods worshipped in the temple to be the main god to be in charge in this temple. However, the building of the temple at that time was not legal. When the city government sent a note to tear down the temple, they moved to Jin Cuan third Lane, Rei Nan Li to continue helping the followers see through their difficulties. In 1976, the location now was bought and started building on August 19 in 1979. On December 15th, 1981, the temple had the opening ceremony. The temple takes up more than three hundred pings and is two-story palace-style building. On the first floor, Holy Mother, Jhong Tan Yuan Shuai, Earthgod, Birth-registry lady, Thousand-li Eye, Wind-following Ear, Black Tiger General are worshipped. The second floor, there are Bodhisattva, Wu Cian Suei, Guang Ze Zuen Wang, Wen Shu Bodhisattva, Pu Sian Bodhisattva, eighteen arhats, etc. The temple has taken on an entirely brand new look. It is not grand and fancy but it is definitely solid and firm, wide and practical. From now on, all the gods have their own safe and comfortable places to show their power and help the people.
