Gao Cie Jin Luan Gong

    the history of Gao Cie Jin Luan Gong
    This temple was founded in 1661 when people from China came to Pu Zih Jiao in Jia Yi. In 1670, they came down to Cie Ding in Kaohsiung county to built a straw temple and had the name of “Jin Luan Gong”. The starting goddess were Da mazu, Er mazu, San mazu and Si mazu. In 1826, 1928, and 1980, it went through three renovations. The statue of San mazu went to protect some followers to for a new town, so they went to Sin Cu Zih in Kaohsiung county which is the Yung An District and united some people to cultivate fish farms successfully near the shore of Sing Da port. Yung An Gong was founded and later moved to become Nan Cian Jin Luan Tan on Fu Cian Road in Tainan in 1962.

    In 1963, Da mazu had a decree to ask the Si mazu to station in Kaohsiung city and sculp a new statue of Da mazu, Er mazu, Li Fu Cian Suei and Jhong Tan Yuan Shuai to get worshipped. In 1996, the new temple was named “Gao Cie Jin Luan Gong”. “Gao Cie” means the combination of the first two characters of Kaohisung and Cieding. The original Si mazu statue is in here. Until 1999, the statue is 330 years old. From Nan An till now, lots of followers come to worship in the temple. Si mazu went to help at Li Zih Nei in Cian Jhen District. Her miracles were famous to people. On the third, the sixth and the ninth of every month, followers can ask her questions and favors and blessings. Now we are writing the temple historical record and we welcome all the opinions.
